This Navajo rug measures 49" x 101", hand-spun yarn, hand-dyed red and copper, all other colors are natural, very good condition, c. 1920's, artist unknown.

This rug could have been woven anywhere in the Navajo Nation in the 1920's. It features 5 large diamonds with half-diamond top and bottom, center. The 4 diamonds surrounding the central diamond are bi-colored, thus derivitave of Classic wearing blankets with opposing half diamonds. It also features 10 feather. The effect is a striking and graceful image on the floor for which it was woven. Today, it could be a beautiful wall hanging.
