Crystal c. 1910's
This is a Navajo rug from the Crystal region on New Mexico; 48" x 86", handspun yarn, dyed red, all other yarn is natural, excellent condition, artist unknown.
This rug is not a Crystal however it is directly derrivative of Plate No. ???. The color palette, floating elements and the border are straight out of the Crystal/J.B.Moore design scheme.
If the rug were younger than 1910's there would probably be more variations from the J.B. Moore sensibility. Since it is so true to Moore's time at the Crystal Trading Post (1897-1913), I doubt that it is younger than the 1910's.
