Master Weaver Julia Jumbo
Julia was considered the best living Navajo weaver after Daisy Taugelchee died. This piece was woven before she began using the "daisy" border that she is widely known for. She borrowed that design element from her adopted mother, Master Weaver Esther Silentman. This weaving is an example of "the artist as a young woman."
This piece appears on p. 297 of The Master Weavers, 29" x 48".
