J.B. Moore Plate Variant, Toadlena|Two Grey Hills
J.B. Moore Plate Variant, c.1900's, 42" x 53"
This is one of the most unique pieces we will offer. The design is a quadrated single-diamond from the Crystal Trading Post. The weaver almost assuredly wove Classic Robes, thus the quadrated and half diamonds on the borders. The yarn is hand-spun, natural wool. The "green" is similar/identical to a piece I saw and sold in August, 2009. Until it is proven otherwise, I consider this undyed yarn. This was confirmed by Mark Wnter of the Toadlena Trading Post on the previous piece. This color looks just like the other. Nonetheless, this weaving embodies "aboriginal elegance."
