This Navajo rug is 54" x 75", excellent condition, c. 1910's, handspun, hand-dyed yarn and natural handspun yarn.
The art of this rug puts it in the early 20th century,, perhaps 1900 to 1910. But being a 3 column it may be younger than that. 3 Columns began in the late teens and 20's.
The primative quality of the drawn elements juxtaposes the skill with which is is laid out. That is what I find fascinating and enjoyable about it, aboriginal elegance.
