Ganado c. 1930's
SOLD
This is a large Ganado rug, 67" x 107", excellent condition, c. 1930's.
This is an impressively drawn rug. The half diamonds on the sides and the quarter diamonds in the corners pay homage to the weaver's blanket-weaving Mother, Grandmother and other ancestors. The border is borrowed from the Bear and Coyote Pass Clans of the Toadlena/Two Grey Hills. The alternating black and white put her unique signature on a familiar design.
Quite tough, lots of life still in it!
