This is an early Ganado rug, 68" x 99", very good condition. There is are 2 repairs on it.
This Ganado rug most likely passed through Lorenzo Hubble's hands. It bears the distinctive
qualities of the rugs he commandeered: large elements in a large rug, Spider Woman Crosses. The age of it puts it in his hands. Hubble was certainly active at the Post in the 1890's.
These qualities make it one of the earliest Navajo rugs and thus a collector's prize.
