Regional rug, c. 1910

Regional rug, c. 1910

SOLD

This is a Navajo rug from the early 20th century, c. 1910. The dimensions are 47" x 64", excellent condition. Handspun wool with hand-dyed analyne dye.

This is a beautiful Navajo rug with minimal designs. This is hard to find. The half-diamonds on either side speak of the Classic blanket period. When folded in half they form full diamonds like a Classic wearing blanket.

Six Spider Woman crosses are used on the borders. The weaver made a very clear visual statement with very little input, an elegant rug.

Tough enough for the floor, beautiful enough for the wall.
