This piece by Clara was woven as an homage to Master Weaver Emma Benally. Emma's husband was the Livestock Manager for the Navajo nation in Clara's region. Clara had legendary sheep, thus she was in frequent contact with Emma's husband. She saw the wonderful tapestries Emma wove. "Imitation is the highest form of flattery" and here is Clara's flattery of Emma.
It still bears Clara's color pallette and several of her signature design elements.
