Master Weaver Blind Man's Wife
THIS PIECE IS ON HOLD. 2-13-12
Blind Man's Wife and Mrs. Policeboy probably influenced more Toadlena/Two Grey Hills weavers than any others in the early, formative years. This piece is a refinement of the piece appearing before it on p. 217. That piece is a variant of a J. B. Moore plate. Three weavings show the artistic progression she followed to create the amazing piece on p. 220. She wove several of that basic layout and this one is part of the process that led to that.
Blind Man's Wife was Master Weaver Clara Sherman's mother-in-law and her influence can be seen in the piece on p. 177. It appears misshapen but that is only the angle of the photograph.
This piece appears on p. 218 of The Master Weavers, 63" x 77".
