Germantown Navajo weaving, c. 1890, 35" x 58", excellent condition.
This is one of those exquisite Germantown weavings. It basically has a Classic color pallette and design, plus a touch of burgandy. The weaver could have had a Sunday saddle blanket in mind but this would have spent little time on a horse. The half diamonds reveal that her artistic instincts were formed in the Classic period. Enjoy!
